Order entry in R•Desktop allows you to build a complete list of orders (items) in combination linked to a clearing item or cheque.
Order bundles can be any combination of deposits, withdrawals, buys, sells, or switches and may be done on existing investments or may include new investments.
Instead of each order item being sent individually, they are collected and submitted as one large bundle of orders.
Orders can be entered from either the Client Overview screen or the Account Overview screen by clicking the New Order button. Orders can also be placed from the Account Overview screen with existing holdings by clicking any of the Action buttons.
1. From the Account Overview screen, click

. The Order Entry dialog appears.
2. Select an Advisor from the list.
3. In the Date and Time of Client Contact field, enter the date and time of the advisors communication with the client.
4. Select the Update PAC/SWP check box (or Standing Orders) to automatically update PACs and SWPs when the order bundle contains at least one of the following order types:
Fund Switch where,
• The Order type = Switch, and
• The Amount type is = All Units, and
• The fund is specified on an active PAC or SWP with an allocation greater than 0%, and
• The SWP has a payment funding option of 'Specified demand/fund' selected.
OR
Fund Transfer out where,

OR
Fund Sell where,
• The Order type = Sell, and

• The fund is specified on an active PAC with an allocation greater than 0%.
Note:
The “Update PAC/SWP” check box may be called “Update Standing Orders”, depending on license.
5. If an automated fee defined for the account product is to be waived, select the Waive Automated Fee check box.
6. To have fund order items created by allocating the total of the deposit amounts to the individual funds of the asset allocation model, click the Allocate to Model button.
Note:
The Allocate to Model button is enabled when the Asset Allocation model is entirely comprised of funds, cash or a combination of funds and cash. When the button is selected the cash allocation of the Asset Allocation model will be applied to the deposit amount first and the remaining deposit amount will be allocated to the funds in the model. There will be no allocation applied to any existing cash balance in the demand account. All cash allocation calculations will be based solely on the deposit amount for the order. If the Asset Allocation model does not contain a cash allocation, the total deposit amount will be allocated to the funds of the model.
7. Click the Trial Submit button to perform a trial version of submitting the order or order bundle, and to return any errors or edits which will be triggered when submitting the order. This will include any orders that trigger the Explanation Required Outcome dialog.
Note:
Clicking the Trial Submit button opens the
Trial Submit Confirmation Summary dialog where trial submit outcomes and order items are displayed. The Trial Submit button can be found on every tab of the Order Entry dialog.
8. Select an investment type tab, such as Equity or Mutual Fund. The tab page for the selected investment is displayed. Equity has been selected in the screenshot below.

15. To view any cash transactions that are part of the order bundle, click the Bank Items subtab on the Order Entry dialog.
16. To submit all the order items in the list, click Submit Now. A popup window appears listing details of your order, including the order number.
17. If you want to launch the Order report, click the Print check box on the confirmation dialog. The report is submitted when the order bundle has successfully been processed. For example, if a confirmation edit or a processing edit is triggered, the report will not be submitted unless the edit is successfully bypassed and the order itself has been submitted successfully.
18. Click the Allocate to Under/Over button to indicate how the deposit or withdrawal order items are to be allocated to the model.
Note:
Enabled when the account has an active asset allocation model, regardless of the types of investments in the model, and there are no other order item types in the bundle other than Deposit or Withdrawal.
Deposits will be allocated to buy any holding classes and investments below the minimum target range percentage for the model first. Withdrawals will be allocated to sell any holding classes or investments above the maximum target range percentage for the model first.
After the selection of this button, the operator will not be able to add or modify order items to the bundle prior to submitting the proposed order. The operator will need to abandon the in progress order to make any changes to the deposit or withdrawal order items in the bundle.
