Adding Background Information
The information on this dialog can be useful to record certain background information in R•Broker. You can use this information for compliance reporting, or refer to it when developing sales strategies and establishing a client-advisor relationship. Background information can be changed at any time after it has been saved.
To add background information 
1. Follow the procedure Viewing Client Information.
2. Select Background from the More... list. The Client Background Information dialog appears.
3. Fill out the fields as described in the Background screen table, then click Update to save.

Field
Description
ID Type
Type of driver’s license for the client.
ID Jurisdiction
Driver’s license jurisdiction for the client.
ID Number
Driver’s license number for the client.
Last Contact Date
Enter the date on which the client was last contacted in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Next Contact Date
Enter the date on which the client should be next contacted in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Phone Contact Date
Enter the date on which the client was last contacted by phone in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Personal Contact Date
Enter the date on which the client last met with an advisor in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Anniversary
Enter the client’s wedding anniversary date in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Prospect Class
Enter the prospect ranking ID.
Sales Potential
Enter the sales potential ranking ID.
Family Decision Maker
Select check box if the client is the family decision maker.
Smoker
Select check box if the client smokes.
Receive Literature
Select check box if the client would like to receive marketing literature.
Approach to Sell
Select check box if you want to offer the client other products.
Bankrupt
Select check box and enter date if the client has ever declared bankruptcy in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Will
Select check box and enter the date on which the will was drawn up in mm/dd/yyyy format, or click to open the date pop-up calendar where you can select one.
Custodial Parent Name
Enter the custodial parent name. Only appears if one of more of the client’s accounts are RESP.
Primary Caregiver
Click Find to locate and select. Only appears if one of more of the client’s accounts are RESP.
Labelled “Primary caregiver 1(PCG)/Spouse” for RDSP.
Copy PCG Information
Once the Primary Caregiver 1 has been selected, the check box will be selected by default to copy the Primary Caregiver 1's Name and Client # into the Primary Caregiver 2 fields.
If the check box is clear, the Name and Client # for the Primary Caregiver 2 will be Blank.
Primary caregiver 2 (PCG2)
For RDSP, used to display the last name and first name of the second primary caregiver.
Last Name, First Name
For RDSP, displays the CIF name selected or copied over for PCG2. If PCG 1/Spouse is entered and the Copy PCG Information check box is not selected, this field will be enabled to enter a First and Last Name, or to click Find to search for one.
If a company CIF, the company name is displayed.
Education Information
Enter relevant education information in this section of the dialog.
Residence Log
Opens the Residence Log dialog where residency history can be viewed.
