R-Desktop : Entering Orders : Quick Order Entry
Quick Order Entry
The Quick Order entry method allows you to enter a simple order from the client’s overview screen. You can add to or sell from an investment the client has already invested in. Investments the client has already purchased will be available for quick order entry.
Quick order entry does not allow combinations of orders. Order combinations are done through bundle orders, which are described in the next section. All orders entered through the quick order entry method are done in sequence and are not linked events.
Each row in the Holdings section of the Client Overview screen is an investment belonging to the selected client. The icons on the right side of each row is where you select a quick order action.
To enter an order using the Quick Order method
1. Follow the procedure Viewing Order Information. The Account Overview screen appears with a list of the client’s current holdings.
2. To buy more or sell any of the current investments for the client, click the appropriate icon in the Action column for any listed investment. The Order Entry dialog based on the type of investment and the action taken appears.
Note:
In the screen above, you can do a quick buy or withdrawal on the cash account, or a buy or sell on the equity holding. See any of the sections later in this chapter for complete details for any order type.
Explanation for Compliance Required
The Explanation for Compliance Required dialog is used to capture the operator's explanation for placing an order(s) with a pre-trade compliance outcome. This explanation, along with all of the configurable edits with a pre-trade compliance outcome, will be stored and used in the Pre-trade Compliance processing when the order is created in R•Broker. If no trade processing edit with a “Explanation Required” outcome is triggered, then this dialog will not be presented when submitting an order.

If a subsequent value is selected, the selected description and corresponding template text are added to a new line item below the existing text.
Descriptions and template text are populated in the language preference selected for the operator's session, if provided.
The operator will be allowed to modify or delete any or all of the text. Modifying or deleting the text will not update the description or template in R•Broker Administrator. Suitability Calculation Results
The Suitability Calculation Results dialog appears when the Suitability button is clicked on the Explanation for Compliance Required dialog, as described in the previous section. The results displayed include the values from the orders placed using the most recent prices. Paging will be available to display the Suitability Calculation Results of multiple accounts, if an order bundle contains orders for multiple accounts or where two-sided transaction evaluates more than one account.
This read only dialog displays the most recent suitability calculation results in effect at the time the event was updated to an 'Approved' or 'Closed' status.
