Rate Details
This dialog is accessed from the Term tab of the Order Entry dialog. The following screenshot shows the dialog upon initial entry.
The following screenshot shows the dialog after the rates have been entered or fetched.
For stepped rate term investments, information will be displayed for each yearly rate entered by the operator based on the number of steps specified on the rate schedule attached to the term investment.

Base Rate
column
Base rate.
Delete
button
Deletes the record from the table.
Effective date
column
Enter the first date on which the interest rate becomes effective.
Investment code
display
Displays the code and description of the investment selected on the Term Buy Details dialog.
Rate status
column
Only Active should be used in calculations. The only time this should be required is when extra rates were added by accident. Otherwise, changes to existing rates should be made.
Rate type
column
Bonus - When a client has been guaranteed a bonus rate, which is the rate in place at the time of the purchase plus a guaranteed x% bonus on top of the rate. This rate type applies to orders only. Confirmed trades cannot have rates in this status.
Confirmed - A regular rate or a guaranteed rate that has been confirmed by the issuing institution.
Guaranteed - When a rate guarantee has been given to the client, this information can be entered at time of order entry (with a Rate Guarantee Ref #). This information will be displayed on the settlement report. The status should be changed to “confirmed” at time of order confirm. This rate type applies to orders only. Confirmed trades cannot have rates in this status.
Minimum - Rates on future legs of a transaction might not be known at the time of input. However, a minimum rate is usually guaranteed (as is the case with index-linked GICs).
Note: All rate types are available via the Rate Report, which shows all term products and clients with term investments with the applicable rates. Individual rate types may be selected, which allows the rate to be updated without the necessity of searching each client account.
Total Rate
column
Displays the interest rate percentage for the investment. Can be modified. Total Rate = Base Rate + Discretionary Rate + Campaign Bonus Rate.
View
button
Opens the Rate Entry dialog in View mode for an existing stepped rate term investment.
When clicked for a term buy order that is not yet submitted, the Rate dialog opens in Add mode and displays any rates that have been manually entered by the operator.
